Residual current circuit breakers RCCBs are the safest devices for detecting and preventing the tripping of leakage currents, thus ensuring protection against electric shocks caused by indirect contact.
These devices must be used in series with MCBs or fuses to protect them from the potentially damaging thermal and dynamic stress of any overcurrent.
They can also be used as the main disconnecting switch upstream of any derived MCB.
